Thanks to those of you who took the time to enter to win our little “treat” this week: a free copy of Earrings Visual Project Guide. Just in time for holiday gift-making, this book includes earring designs for a wide variety of tastes and ages.
Our lucky winner this week is . . . VickiT! Congratulations, Vicki! We hope you find lots of inspiration from Chris Franchetti Michaels’ earring designs.
To all of you who are out there making amazing stuff, please remember our Flickr page, where you can upload photos of the projects you complete from Wiley Craft books. We love to see the beautiful things you create!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Now that I’ve stirred up your excitement about Chris Franchetti Michaels‘ latest book, Earrings Visual Project Guide, I’d like to give you a sample of the many great designs she created for the book. Her Segmented Rondelle Earrings are featured on the front cover and are included in the chapter titled Long and Linear. With their fresh bronze metals and ruby-red beads, they strike a lovely balance of casual elegance. And at the end of the pattern, you’ll find an appealing variation on the design.
I’m thrilled to announce the latest offering from Chris Franchetti Michaels, the author of Teach Yourself Visually Jewelry Making & Beading (among many other great books!): Earrings Visual Project Guide. This book is amazing not only because it includes a wide variety of stylish earring designs, but also because it shows you step by step how to make each pair. With both text and photos, Chris painstakingly details each important point in the process, showing you exactly how to perform each step.
Inside the book, you’ll find a review of essential tools and techniques, plus a chapter devoted to making your own ear wires. The projects are broken down by style and include embellished hoops, long and linear designs, boho and glam styles, and rugged and retro-inspired earrings.
If you’d love to get your hands on a FREE COPY of this book, enter our giveaway! Just leave a comment on this post before noon Eastern on Friday, and on Friday afternoon I’ll choose a lucky winner at random and announce the winner here.
And check back here on Wednesday for a free project from the book!
Happy Friday, everyone! Did you enter the giveaway for Anna Maria’s Needleworks Notebook? I hope you took the time to throw your hat in the ring! Today’s winner (chosen at random) is…Debbie H! Congrats, Debbie!
Hope you all have a good weekend! Check back here next week for another cool giveaway and a free project, too.
We are simply delighted to have the privilege of publishing books by design superstar Candice Olson. Her latest, Candice Olson Family Spaces, is an amazing collection of family rooms, great rooms, and basements that welcome moms, dads, and kids alike. Crafty types will find several room designs that accommodate hobbies like sewing, along with kids’ crafting.
Here’s a modern space from the book that I just love. Can’t you picture yourself making amazing stuff at that pretty table?
This book will hit store shelves on November 13, so mark your calendars! It joins other great guides by Candice, including Candice Olson on Design, Candice Olson Kitchens & Baths, and Candice Olson Bedrooms. To find out where Candice sources the furnishings and other materials for her room designs, go to www.candiceolsonbooks.com.
It’s a rainy Monday here, but the fact that I get to introduce the latest book from Anna Maria Horner is certainly brightening my day! Anna Maria’s Needleworks Notebook is another gorgeous offering from this amazingly talented designer and author of Seams to Me and Handmade Beginnings. This new book features 24 original motifs for cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, and crewel, each one presented in a warm, personal notebook style. Anna’s practical instruction will have you stitching alongside her and completing fine detail work in no time! My favorite part is that she includes the exact fabrics and thread color numbers for every pattern, so there’s no guessing about which materials you need to re-create the looks in the book.
Want to win a copy? Now’s your chance! Leave a comment on this post before noon on Friday, and I’ll select a random winner to be announced on Friday afternoon.
